The tomato is the mediterranean ethos of simplicity, flavour and connection to the land and the community. It is also the main ingredient in so many meals on the mediterranean coast, from the Libyan soup, the Egyptian stuffed tomatoes, to the Greek Horiatiki salad. These dishes are often central to gatherings, bringing a sentimental value to the meal. They are representations of cultural identity and heritage. This collection is inspired by that idea. Kuta (The K is silent) is one way of saying Tomato in Egyptian dialect. It is a collection of limited hand thrown pieces. Each piece is hand painted and unique.
